March 2019

  • 28th March: APPG on PDRH members attended a Royal College of Pediatrics and Child Health event celebrating child health and recovery in post-Ebola Sierra Leone in the presence of HRH The Princess Royal.

  • 15th March: Baroness Tonge hosted a delegation from Marie Stopes International in Parliament.

  • 11th March: Members of the APPG on PDRH attended the DFID Ministerial consultation on the Voluntary National Review (VNR) to the UN on UK progress on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

  • 11th - 22nd March: Baroness Gale, Baroness Hodgson and Baroness Watkins attended the European Population Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights (EPF) delegation to the UN Commission on the Status of Women in New York.

  • 6th March: The APPG on PDRH’s Parliamentary and Policy Advisor attended the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists’ International Women’s Day event.

  • 4th March: Baroness Tonge met with filmmaker Eylem Atakav to discuss her child marriage film award and future collaboration on child marriage in advance of the forthcoming Domestic Abuse Bill.

  • 27th February: APPG on PDRH members attended an FGM event in the House of Commons hosted by Stephen Hammond MP.

  • 7th February: APPG on PDRH members attended an FGM film event hosted by APPG member Sarah Champion MP.

  • 30th January: Baroness Tonge chaired an evening reception for Marie Stopes International.

  • 25th January: The APPG on PDRH’s Parliamentary and Policy Advisor attended the annual general meeting of the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare in London.

  • 24th January: Baroness Tonge met with Professor Lesley Regan, President of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

  • 21st January: Members of the APPG on PDRH Committee had a briefing meeting with MASIC on faecal incontinence after childbirth.

  • 14th January: Baroness Tonge and the APPG on PDRH’s Parliamentary and Policy Advisor met with Neil Datta of the European Population Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights (EPF).

  • 14th January: Baroness Tonge met with Nahid Toubia to discuss FGM in Sudan.

November 2018

  • 26th - 27th November: The APPG on PDRH’s Parliamentary and Policy Advisor attended the European Population Forum for Sexual and Reproductive Rights (EPF) annual retreat in Poland.

  • 19th November: Members of the APPG on PDRH Committee had a briefing meeting with the APPG on Agriculture and Food for Development with Mhairi Gibson, anthropologist at the University of Bristol about her research: ‘Clean water linked to rising birth rates in Africa: why development initiatives must consider women’s reproductive services’.

  • 16th November: Members of APPG on PDRH met with a Chinese delegation.

  • 12th - 15th November: Baroness Jenny Tonge presented the APPG on PDRH’s hearing report on abortion at the Family Planning Conference in Kigali, Rwanda. Baroness Tonge and the APPG on PDRH’s Parliamentary and Policy Advisor also participated in study visits to a district hospital and Well Women’s Centre organised by the European Population Forum on Sexual and Reproductive Rights (EPF).

October 2018

  • 31st October: Baroness Jenny Tonge spoke about SRHR at a MuslimAid event.

  • 30th October: The APPG on PDRH and the APPG on Global Health co-hosted an event on indigenous women’s maternal health.

  • 22nd - 23rd October: Baroness Jenny Tonge, Virendra Sharma MP and John Mann MP attended the IPCI/ICPD Programme of Action G7 Parliamentary Meeting in Ottawa, Canada.

  • 17th October: Members of the APPG on PDRH attended the UNFPA State of the World Population report launch and hosted a luncheon with Dr Natalia Kanem, Executive Director of UNFPA.

September 2018

  • 5th September: Co-Chair Pauline Latham MP introduced the Marriage and Civil Partnership (Minimum Age) Bill in the House of Commons, the debate can be found here.

  • 11th July: The APPG on PDRH wrote to Prime Minister Theresa May regarding President Donald Trump’s visit to the UK and SRHR. The letter can be found here.

  • 9th July: The APPG on PDRH, International Planned Parenthood Federation and UNFPA co-hosted a reception for World Population Day.

  • 2nd July: Members of the APPG on PDRH Committee had a briefing meeting with Plan UK on the Rohingya refugee camp at Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh and refugee camps in South Sudan.

June 2018

  • 19th June: Baroness Jenny Tonge opened the FSRH conference ‘Global contraception: challenges and opportunities’.

  • 11th June: Baroness Jenny Tonge chaired the FORWARD report launch on Tanzania and adolescent pregnancy.

  • 18th May: Baroness Jenny Tonge met Marie Stopes International representatives from Myanmar.

  • 14th May: Members of the APPG on PDRH Committee were briefed by NGOs, including Sightsavers, Deaf Child Worldwide, International HIV/AIDS Alliance and Sense International, about individuals with disabilities and SRHR.

  • 9th May: Baroness Jenny Tonge met Liberian MPs at a round-table event hosted by the APPG on Africa and the British Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU).

  • 3rd May: Baroness Jenny Tonge met with representatives from Ahfad University.

  • 1st May: Members of the APPG on PDRH met with Ethiopian MPs.

  • 27th April: John Mann MP attended the European Parliamentary Forum on Population and Development in Brussels.

  • 25th April: Members of the APPG on PDRH met Professor Lesley Regan from the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

  • 18th April: Baroness Jenny Tonge, Baroness Barker, Baroness Uddin and Baroness Hussein-Ece participated in the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting side event on women.

  • 9th - 13th April: Baroness Jenny Tonge participated in a study tour to Sudan with the APPG for Sudan to look at the state of women’s health.
